The mission of the Eric Berry Foundation is to provide beneficial opportunities and a safe environment for children to participate in team sports and leadership development programs in order to encourage strength of body, mind and spirit.
Started Summer 2010 - After being drafted by The Kansas City Chiefs in 2010, one of the first things that Eric did was to partner up with Astro-Turf to donate a turf football field to the City of Fairburn’s youth. The field was installed at Duncan Park (the local park where Eric grew up playing youth football) just in time for the 2010 football season. Since the installation of the football field, the City of Fairburn has joined in and implemented a two-phase plan to beautify areas around the turf field and throughout the park. Phase I – Expanded football complex, expanded parking, passive play area/aquatics facility. Phase II – Beautification of the lake area, and a new basketball/recreation area. Phase I will be completed by January 2014. The City of Fairburn and its citizens have been very appreciative of Eric for helping to motivate them to invest in their youth and community.
